Hotel Description

The Apex City of London Hotel is housed in a large, glass-clad building in The City, with views of the Thames and Tower Bridge. The 130 guestrooms are decorated in pared down contemporary style, with bold colour schemes, wood bedsteads, writing desks and coffee tables. The walls are adorned with specially commissioned artwork and all include air- conditioning, satellite wide-screen television, wireless Internet, tea/coffee making facilities, CD/DVD players, power showers and a pillow menu.
The hotel's restaurants range from a formal dining experience at the Addendum, serving modern European dishes in a modern dining room with black leather chairs and walnut flooring. Alternatively, the brasserie, with glass extension overlooking the gardens, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as afternoon tea. The Addendum lounge bar is decorated in a contemporary style with slate and glass strip cladding, brown leather sofas and low tables, and serves a range of wines and cocktails. There is also a gym, sauna and steam room. The 24- hour front desk has multilingual staff who can assist with transport and theatre bookings as well as with recommendations for places to visit. London City Airport is nine miles from the hotel.

Buses run between the airport and Canning Town, Liverpool Street via Canary Wharf, Walthamstow North Woolwich and Stratford. A taxi from the airport costs approximately 17 GBP. The easiest way to get around London is by using the Underground (metro) or bus services. The nearest tube station to the hotel is Tower Hill, 500 metres from the hotel. Driving directions: From the airport, go north on Royal Docks Road, enter next roundabout and take first exit onto Newham Way. Keep right at the fork to continue on Newham Way which then becomes East India Dock Road. Turn slight left onto East India Dock Road Tunnel. Turn right onto Aspen Way. Keep right at the fork to go on Limehouse Link. Turn left onto the Highway which then becomes East Smithfield. Turn right onto Tower Hill stay straight on and go onto Byward Street.Turn right onto Trinity Square. Turn sharp left onto Muscovy Street then right onto Seething Lane.
