London Clubs
If an evening at the Royal Opera House isn't your idea of nightlife, you will still find plenty to do after dark in London. If you want to dance you might try ultra-trendy Fabric for top international DJs. Friday Live at Fabric features hip-hop and live music. London's largest gay party is at the Astoria on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Saturday night hosts big-name talent; regular guests include Kylie Minogue, Geri Halliwell, and a whole host of B-list TV celebrities.
The American Bar in St. James is bit more low-key: great martinis and sports memorabilia. Ronnie Scott's or the Jazz Cafe are both excellent choices for a night of jazz. Dogstar is a popular South London hangout, frequented by local hipsters and counter-culture types.
London also boasts a number of first-rate comedy clubs including the Comedy Store, the Backyard Comedy Club and Jongleurs Camden Lock. Don't be surprised to find a television star or well-known American comics behind the microphone.
